Who Is Vee The Rhevelaytor?
Vee the Rhevelaytor – Southern Alternative OG Hip Hop Artist
As a recording artist for Sylverblaq Records, Vee the Rhevelaytor will be a dynamic force in Southern alternative hip hop, blending innovative production with a powerful and introspective message. While Vee has been creating music off and on for two decades, it wasn’t until 2009 that he decided to fully pursue his passion, dedicating himself to the craft and establishing his presence in the industry.

A 20-Year Journey of Growth and Expression
Vee’s love for hip hop began at the age of nine when he first heard Eric B. & Rakim’s “I Ain’t No Joke” and The D.O.C.’s classic album “No One Can Do It Better.” This awakening inspired him to begin writing poetry by the age of twelve, laying the foundation for his future as an artist. By high school, Vee was performing at school dances, shows, and community events, showcasing his charisma and lyrical talent. His creative interests extended to theater, where he honed his stage presence in productions throughout high school and college.
During his college years, Vee immersed himself in hip hop culture by working in radio, performing at open mics, and collaborating with DJs. During his freshman year at Fort Valley State University, Vee won the WFVS talent show as part of the group Southern Exposure alongside his groupmate Darrell “El” Elmore. As a result of winning the talent show, Southern Exposure had the distinct privilege and honor of opening for Goodie Mob (and many other acts) during Fort Valley State University’s 1998 Homecoming festivities.
His early singles, “Movement Muzyk” and “Unkonscious Flow,” earned him a performance slot at the 2009 Malcolm X Grassroots Festival in Atlanta, GA, introducing his sound to a larger audience. In 2014, Vee released “Rhyme Zero,” an EP that began as “The Xxodys Presents… Movement Muzyk” but evolved into a refined artistic statement. Vee wrote, produced, and performed on all of the songs on Rhyme Zero, showcasing his lyrical prowess and his ability to connect with listeners through deeply personal storytelling.
Vee continued his independent artistry with the release of his album “MMLXXXIV” in 2017, a bold Southern alternative take on the dystopian themes of George Orwell’s 1984. Vee wrote, produced, and performed on almost all of the songs on MMLXXXIV, except for one entitled “Gears Of War,” which was produced by his former groupmate, Darrell “El” Elmore. Singles like “Coquina” and “Patriarch (Greens In The Pot)” reflect his commitment to exploring profound themes of identity, resilience, and fatherhood. The music video for “Patriarch (Greens In The Pot)” can be found on his website and YouTube channel, serving as a visual testament to his creative vision.

A New Chapter: The Rookie & The Sage
In collaboration with Bassgodd Drumpad Addict, Vee will be introducing his limited-release 6-track mixtape entitled “Bassgodd Drumpad Addict & Vee the Rhevelaytor Present… The Rookie & The Sage,” in the first quarter of 2025. This mixtape will be available as a limited number of downloads, accessible after signing up to join his mailing list. This project marks a reintroduction (and introduction as well) of Vee’s artistry to a growing audience, born from his creative experiments on Instagram Reels with Bassgodd’s beats. The EP provides an intimate look into pivotal moments in Vee’s life, with songs like “23,” “34,” and “44” representing key age milestones, while other songs delve into universal questions and personal reflections.

Upcoming Projects and Expanding Creativity
Vee’s forthcoming series, “The Balance Chronicles,” will include two EPs (“The Dragon In The Dark” and “The Phoenix In The Light”) and the singles “Sting ’97” and “Rhevelaytor ’98.” These projects promise to further cement his reputation as an artist unafraid to push boundaries and explore complex narratives.
In addition to music, Vee is venturing into literature with his motivational book “From An Intellekt To A Rhevelaytor – A Motivational Love Letter To The Late Bloomers,” aimed at inspiring those finding their purpose later in life. Several other book projects are also in development, highlighting his versatility as a storyteller.
Vee the Rhevelaytor also produces content on YouTube with his show “Rhevelaytor’s Roll.” This show takes viewers and listeners inside his creative process and life, offering an intimate and authentic perspective on his journey. On the show, Vee also performs spoken word poetry, further showcasing his multifaceted artistry.
With his unique blend of lyricism, storytelling, and artistic versatility, Vee the Rhevelaytor continues to redefine what it means to be an independent artist in hip hop, inspiring audiences with every beat and bar.
